Hi!
My name's Christopher Sutton, and I'm the founder of Easy Ear Training Ltd. I'm a hobbyist musician with a professional background in digital music and audio technology.
Last year I found myself doing several kinds of ear training, some for work, some for pleasure, and I ended up developing an iPhone app to help out with the relative pitch training I was doing. As I spent more and more time on that, and on my own ear training, I realised this was a topic that deserved a lot more attention, and some new, 21st century methods!
I'm really inspired by the power of ear training to open new and exciting doors into music and audio. There've been so many occasions when I'm just wowed by hearing something I know I would never have heard without the training - Sometimes that's a subtle audio effect, sometimes it's an appreciation of everything that's going on in music rather than just the most prominent parts, and sometimes it's having that insight from hearing that lets me play much more freely when I'm at the piano.
I'm hugely excited about the authors who are writing articles for the site. I've been reading drafts and preview copies for the last few weeks, and learning a great deal myself! I'm also psyched to talk to other people who are interested in developing their ears, here in the forums.
Please don't be shy! It only takes a minute to sign up for the forums, and I'd love to hear who you are and how you came across the site.
Looking forward to meeting you!![]()
