Hello everybody

Hello everybody, I found this site through a google search, and quite glad to have done so. There is a wealth of information here! While I have had some formal training as a pianist (started around 8) I never took it too seriously. Furthermore, the person who was teaching me piano put more emphasis on theory than ear training and sight reading.
I stopped attending classes sometime in high school and took a long hiatus from any formal music training. It wasn't until my seond year at university did I gain an interest in composing music.Soon after I started, however, I hit a wall when I realized I had a hard time transcribing what I was hearing in my head. I hope ear training will help in this respect.
In any case, thank you for starting this site, and I look foward to reading more articles. I hope to improve my skills in ways I didn't think we're possible.
