Ashley Evelyn Mazur

A recent graduate from the University of South Dakota, Ashley Evelyn Mazur is finding her niche as a young singer and chorus teacher. Mazur has spent time both onstage and in front of a classroom. Stage credits include Signor Deluso (Rosine), Gianni Schicchi (Zita), The Magic Flute (Second Lady, Third Lady), and a wealth of scene programs. She was a featured performer in a seminar at the 2011 National Opera Association Convention on opera outreach for children, playing the comedic role of Esperanza in The Princess and the Pea by Mary Carol Warwick. She is currently teaching chorus, voice, theater, and world drumming for grades 6-12. Areas of academic interest include 20th and 21st century music, opera, vocal pedagogy, and classroom music. When she is not teaching or performing, Ashley enjoys writing, reading, playing dumb games on Facebook, and nagging at her fiancé Gary. Her next project is learning how to play the steel drum, aspiring to play “Under the Sea” at full tempo.
