You may have noticed us going a little a cappella crazy here on EasyEarTraining.com lately…

First we tackled the What and Why, then the How of using a cappella music for ear training. There was a reason! We’ve been working on something special for the London A Cappella Festival 2013.

A brand-new app for iOS, Android and web: Out Now!

The London A Cappella Festival

The London A Cappella Festival
The London A Cappella Festival is the first London festival dedicated to the many forms of a cappella music. Always featuring a stellar line-up of the finest international talent from the a cappella world, and curated by the fantastic Swingle Singers and Ikon Arts Management, its goal is to spread the love of a cappella – with a range of musical events from concerts, to interactive workshops, and the always-interesting ‘fringe’ events of #LACFextra.

As an a cappella fan in London, I’ve been a devoted attendee each year since the festival launched in 2010, writing blog posts, and last year running a discussion group on using a cappella for music education. This year Easy Ear Training had the opportunity to contribute to the festival in a more official capacity…

The London A Cappella App

Get the London A Cappella AppOver the last few months we’ve been working closely with the festival organisers Ikon Arts Management to develop a special companion app for LACF2013. Something that would provide a great experience both for festival-goers and music fans who aren’t attending, and for those devoted a cappella enthusiasts as well as those who are new to it all.

With a terrific lineup of performers and workshops for this year’s festival we had plenty of great material to draw on – and we think we’ve created a really exciting blend of entertainment and education.
